Colossians 3:4 “When CHRIST, WHO is your life, appears, then you also will appear with HIM in glory!”
Perfect Joy for the Journey!
Turn your eyes as HIS mirrors, most zealous,
to reflect both the face and the heart of
Spurn the glances of man-made approvals…
to instead tell the Body of coming upheaval.
But ‘tis not without Hope! For HIS planning…
sure and sovereignly set these events
for soon passage.
With an eye then upon Life’s surroundings,
keep your heart and your mind in HIS WORD…thus preparing.
For the Hour long thought by some slumbering…
to arrive once the Next Generation — much older,
seems now closing with rapid advancement…
with the threads of its fabric
sewn faster and faster.
Yet Beloved! This pace brings us comfort…
for the Faith which HE gave us is
changing to Sight!
Turn your heart then reflecting,
most zealously, JOY! Yea, press on for WHO comes!
Life’s Reward and Love’s Prize!
Hallelujah, our soon and coming KING!
Amen and amen!
Devotional: 2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: As such, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the LORD, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love HIS appearing!”
My family and I saw the movie, “Paul the Apostle” yesterday. It was such a blessing. I know many of us cried through it at the suffering as well as the faith exhibited by him. He truly followed faithfully till the end!
So can there be a greater goal at the “end” of our race than seeing HIM face to face? Is there a more blessed reward than to enter into HIS rest? While HE purposes us to linger here in HIS sovereign service, serving with love and zeal…let us not forget the very reason we do so.
Watch the hour surrounding us today and study HIS WORD then with eager expectation! We are running this race as Paul and countless other believers did…for the high calling and return to the Bishop and Shepherd of our souls!
I can think of no greater Joy than to hear Matthew 25:21 from HIS own wondrous voice! “Welcome Home, good and faithful servant! Enter into the Joy of your LORD!”
Amen and amen!
