Deuteronomy 14:2 “You have been set apart as holy to the LORD your GOD, and HE has chosen you from all the nations of the earth to be HIS own special treasure.”
The Set Apart!
“All in!”, Passion’s cry
alerts those surrounding…
HIS sovereign employ
marks those CHRISTians — awake.
“Fall back!”, Desperate’s cry
then clouds all those watching
because they, as well, claim
the NAME of the LORD.
“Choose!” comes HIS calling
to all at the Crossroads
because Time is closing
and shall be no more.
So be separate! Apart!
From such draw away
who cling just to shadows!
Yes, from them — Depart!
Else bound with their chains
shall you too become!
So leave those retreating
whilst you — forward — run!
As HIServant running with you to HIM,
Devotional: Psalm 4:3 “You can be sure of this: The LORD set apart the godly for HIMSELF. The LORD will answer when I call to HIM.”
The line of separation is found in personal definitions. “Well, I go to church, I pray and tithe, so I’m godly.” (Insert overt smile with a classic twinkle for 5 seconds)
Heart. People can stand in garages but it won’t make them cars. They can go the dentists’ office every week but that doesn’t make them a dentist. They can read and memorize the Bible BUT if it all lacks heart…it is worthless.
1 Corinthians 13:2 “If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.”
Even having faith to move mountains means nothing…if one does not love the LORD “with all their heart, mind, soul and spirit.” Matthew 22:37 and Deuteronomy 6:5 “You shall love the LORD your GOD with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”
Consider the following quote from John Newton. “A soul disengaged from the world is a heavenly one; and then are we ready for heaven when our heart is there before us.”
2 Corinthians 7:1 “Since we have these promises, Beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of GOD.”
Cleanse. Separate yourselves. Fear the LORD.
2 Corinthians 6:17 “Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the LORD. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.”
Finally and again! Come out! Come out not only from unbelievers but from those “believers” who play church, call themselves “godly” and refuse HIS call to carry their cross and follow (going forward!!!) HIM relentlessly!
Amen and amen!
