Galatians 3:13-14 “CHRIST has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in CHRIST Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the SPIRIT through faith.”
The Junkyard Revelation!
The once “past repairing” car door had now been damaged by another, albeit far smaller dent. Still this junkyard metal portal, hanging further ajar due to time’s passage, angrily groaned as it’s hinges recoiled slightly from the impact.
It’s present injury, though far less than its past, did not prevent the rusted gateway from voicing its extreme disapproval.
Cast in the direction of yet another dilapidated vehicle which had just been dropped into view by a massive crane, so the newly scarred door shouted a few more times as the dust settled.
Apparently slighted “for the last time”, so it verbally tore into the bumper of the offending truck, now leaning haphazardly against it. But the angry exchange was actually one-sided and in truth lasted only for a few seconds.
Yet perched high atop the crane in its control box, a young man sat motionless. Curiously he tried to rationalize why the worthless heap of metal was so upset!
“If you still had significant value, then you’d be at a repair shop and not wasting away out here!” He shouted this internally so as to not wake the others rusting nearby.
And as he reclined in his weathered seat, he thought of something else. Actually someone else. Adam. That “Adam”. The first one whom GOD had created.
The sin that he had committed was the original sin. It was the original “Crash” similar to the one this broken car had been in years ago.
The recent denting created by the truck he’d just dropped into the collection of crushed metal and tires…was even less than incidental.
It was irrelevant actually given the original damage not only remained…but had gotten worse over the exposure to both Time and the elements.
Letting his imagination take flight, he envisioned a court room where the old truck had admitted guilt and paid the damages to fix the 3 inch long crease that had just now been added to the already mangled and wheelless metal victim.
“What in the world would that truck pay for? What could be repaired that would be meaningful in any way? This pair of questions he caught himself voicing aloud so he paused, and looked around for anyone like him…who might be listening.
Then tying it back to the spiritual, he continued thinking it through. “I can do my best, admit fault and even try to fix my own sins. But it won’t fix the rest of the car…much save my soul.
That’s the greater problem. In fact, my own resources, finances and efforts to repair myself can’t even begin to pay the price GOD required!
The fact is that the wreck which happened in the Garden of Eden…would still remain and my vessel would still be forever stained.
Even if I HAD BEEN perfect and had managed the impossible feat of unstain my soul…I’d still be in the scrap pile of Hell unless Sovereignty had intervened at Calvary.”
Smiling then to himself (given this reflection) and thanking the LORD above, the young man then swiveled in his chair and slowly shut off the crane as he watched his digital watch transform its numbers to read: “5:00pm”
As if on cue, he firmly nodded to no one watching, “My work is done and thank GOD, CHRIST’s shed blood has accomplished what HE planned since Calvary!
As HIServant very thankful for the complete restoration which HIS sacrifice for me,

Devotional: 1 Corinthians 6:20 “For you were bought with a price. So glorify GOD in your body.”
When the soul finally and truly realizes that its very best day (with even the impossible perfection of self)…would still find it sentenced to hell, then it will find perfect rest.
The greatest relief is that knowledge: CHRIST was the solution to our wrecked lives before we were born! So rather than focus on the hopelessness of self-reliance and our own inadequacies, we can live for HIM!
We can take comfort in HIS finished work which doesn’t make us pay for Adam’s sin! AND! HIS blood alone makes it so we don’t have to pay for our own! Both wrecks have been repaired for eternity! Praise GOD!
Hallelujah! Amen and amen!
