Luke 6:45b “For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”
The WORD’s Warning…
People whose heart-filled abundance speaks Slaughter are blind to the blood stains found covering their frame.
Due to Pride, they are blunt with the cuts their words cause and devoid of compassion; thus deaf to one’s pain.
So beware, you consumers of Greed and Self-Interest! Take heed! GOD rewards the heart’s deepest intentions.
For, if good, then be blessed. But if not, take my pity…for those who speak Violence shall reap its reflections.

As HIServant re-reminding to guard others hearts by restraining our tongues,

Devotional: The first part of Luke 6:45 reads: “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. “
So the heart must be our “root cause” focus for personal growth in CHRIST as well as what feeds our actions.
The original Greek / Septuagint translates Proverbs 4:23 this way.
“Keep thine heart with the utmost care; for out of these are the issues of life.”
Words matter and HIS WORD matters most!
So the tongue puts each of our hearts on audible display. As flesh, we hear and then interpret / translate the messages of every heart we “experience”.
So if bitterness, resentment, pride and all such are most HEARD from a soul….then they’ve elevated the fruits of Self above the fruits of GOD’s SPIRIT.
Now a phrase HE inspired me to pen a few decades back is as follows. “May the LORD reward you for your heart’s intent.”
Lip service from misguided hearts is meaningless, even having “less than zero” worth.
And the tongue is unruly to be certain! Read Proverbs 8:21 and then James 1:26.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”
James 1:26 “If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless.”
Also look at Proverbs 12:18 “There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”
So I pray Psalms 141:3. “Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!”
Couple this prayer with Colossians 4:6 “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”
The struggle of the Flesh then comes because the inward SOURCE is ignored in favor of the tongue’s outward display!!
Thus a lackluster prayer life coupled to minimal study of HIS WORD at best…
…will lead to an empty fresh fruits of the SPIRIT drawer within.
And…the soul that minimizes study, adoption and implementation of GOD’s WORD will ultimately display their own, selfish fruits.
So by reading GOD’s WORD and heeding HIS warning, our hearts will daily feed the Tongue savory dishes which reflect our SAVIOUR.
Yes, words will show the intentions of the heart so reflect CHRIST alone…with your own.
Amen and amen!
