1 Corinthians 16:13-14 “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.”
And Having Done All…STAND!!
YOU came as Savior for those without
worth at least in ourselves — broken
down by the cursed.
Yea, YOU came as Savior for flesh undeserved — where our best is
a rag filled with Filth.
Still YOUR promised return, retrieving
us — shall; those known by YOUR
NAME being drawn by YOUR call!
YOUR promised return
thus inspires us all…to expectantly
watch, pray and…stand!
As HIServant still watching, waiting for while standing on…YOUR NAME,
Devotional: Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
This rag, called our flesh, cannot produce other than Filth. Without any hope of contradiction, we’re told this in Isaiah 64:6.
“But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;
We all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
But what longsuffering YOU show hourly still permitting the freedom of our flesh…well knowing that absent of YOUR interventions, we’ll always choose us over YOU.
How foolish our old nature which can only disappoint?
How great YOUR Grace which has paid — past yet eternally — for all the waywardness of my Self!
Now re-observing through tears that YOUR love never fails even while my thoughtless actions and active thoughts of this corruptible Flesh both stumble — opposing YOU…
STILL! Even still, YOUR crimson cleansing sanitizes spiritually all that this filth- producing soul has regrettably forged!
So we watch for YOU breathlessly and fervently pray for YOUR touch as we read in Isaiah 35:3.
“Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees.”
Our weak hands AND our feeble knees! Oh our praise we give wholly to YOU now as our sin can’t be washed away…any other way!
Lift us quickly from our stumbling and loose us from YOUR stable to lift others to also watch, pray and STAND…till YOU come!
Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore take up the whole armor of GOD, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to STAND!”
Amen and amen!
