Preemptive Communications!

James 1:19 “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger…”

Preemptive Communications!

With one hand covering over
my mouth — intervening…
So no speech nor one word can
be heard without speaking.

Yet! Such little involvement
is frequently witnessed…when
Self first says these thoughts
and rejects wiser thinking.

Save for all of those times
when conversing within-ward…
where no Caution seems taken
nor Hesitation found!

So the greater awareness
must come before Action;
for the greatest, protective
door stands in our Thought life.

There! Before the abundance
that swells in this hearts’ space
and well before Action creates
any speech…

…may we solely be found in
HIS presence — first Silent —
as we filter each word in our
minds before preaching!

As HIServant rehearsing much more as I get older,

Whitney

Devotional: Luke 6:45 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”

Proverbs 29:20 “Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”

Proverbs 17:28 “Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.”

“Preemptive Communications” favors the “Think before we speak!” advice our parents often gave us.

We know these verses and many of us, sadly from first hand experience, haven’t restrained our speech when we should have, right?

So first remaining silent then, as we enter HIS presence in prayer, is a priceless privilege that’s often discarded.

Oh Self! Bind then immediately pouring out every request and petition to instead wait patiently for HIS Wisdom…to lead us with all the word selections!

Amen and amen!
