Isaiah 55:11 “So shall MY WORD be that goes out from MY mouth; it shall not return to ME empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
Without Extras!

YOU are my Provision when Flesh has failed and even more so, when it hasn’t.
YOU supply what is sovereignly needed whenever the bounty of Wants fulfilled…is overflowing.
So it is with words which we all have in abundance and easily
share…from Excess and not Lack.
As such, it’s with great care and even greater love that our speech selections be humbly and hourly filtered.
For the phrases and sentences YOU’ve intended to flow through us must be heard without alteration or addition.
Repurge then this speech writer anew — yea, once again. As YOU impressed upon me decades ago,
YOUR tool and writing instrument am I, purposed for dictation. Taking and using YOUR WORDS.
In like manner, please bless all our words when we fervently and exclusively filter them through YOU.
Yes, thank YOU, LORD JESUS for YOUR perfect WORD which both teaches and transforms us!

Devotional: Ecclesiastes 5:2 “Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before GOD, for GOD is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few.

Proverbs 10:19 “When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.”
So! As a daily reminder to myself as I study, we each have ratios regarding the number of words spoken.
Some have much to say and should always be focused on reducing the amount of their speech.
Others may have little to say and their fewer comments gain more attention in the moment as such.
But what matters most, by far, is what is the content of our heart.
Out of it the mouth speaks, yes?
So we must speak the content that’s from HIM and HIS WORD; what HE has commissioned us to transparently share.
Colossians 4:6 “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”
So my own heart is ever reminded — given the sermons written, the poems penned and prayers lifted…
…to humbly share HIS content without compromising it with my own.
Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my ROCK and my REDEEMER.”

So let us speak as HE commissioned us…as both Light and Life!
Amen and amen.
